careerBump
Empowering 1st-Generation Women High Schoolers in Georgia with the Tools to Succeed Professionally.
In depth program details can be found here.
What is careerBump?
Creating a career for yourself is hard on its own, but can be even more challenging as a minority -- especially as a first generation woman. Here at careerBump, we've all personally experienced the different kinds of struggles that can be faced in different industries. So we are here to help make it easier for the next generation to come by helping students learn what it means to be a professional and how to navigate that space.
For us, gaining professional experience as a high schooler set us up for success in college and our careers. We want to pass on this experience to the next generation, and help give them a bump in their career.
Who is careerBump for?
The program is focused on helping young women who identify as an immigrant or have immigrant parents and are first generation Americans AND women of color and black women who will be one of the first in their family to go to college.
Additionally, these young women need to be 10th, 11th, or 12th graders in a Georgia High School.
